Vestcor’s 3rd “Lofts” Community in Downtown Jacksonville
Jacksonville, FL – January 15, 2020 – The Vestcor Companies is proud to announce the grand opening of Lofts at Jefferson Station, a 133-unit community in Downtown Jacksonville.
“Isn’t our downtown beautiful” remarked Vestcor President Steve Moore as over 100 guests overlooked the stunning view from the fourth-floor community lounge. “Thank you to everyone in attendance as each and every one of you is the reason why we are here today,” said Steve. “We are proud to be the largest apartment owner downtown; we are excited for the continued growth downtown and hope we can continue to be a part of it.”
Lofts at Jefferson Station offers a range of studio, one, two- and three-bedroom apartments. Features include a fitness center, internet café, activity room with billiards, an outdoor amenity space with a large screen projector, a clubroom with kitchen and TVs and a dog walk area.
“Vestcor is the pioneer of downtown development and we are truly grateful for over 17 years of residential development Vestcor has provided,” said Downtown Investment Authority Chief Executive Officer Lori Boyer.
Lofts at Jefferson Station is a workforce housing community with 80 units reserved for individuals making less than 60% of the area median income and 53 units reserved for individuals making less than 140% of the area median income. JAX Chamber President Daniel Davis stressed the importance of not forgetting the need for workforce housing. “As downtown’s take off, affordability is out the window and people who work downtown can’t afford to live downtown,” said Daniel. “We don’t want that for our city and I thank Vestcor for providing this much needed housing as our downtown continues to grow.”
A combination of funding through Jacksonville Housing Finance Authority, the Downtown Investment Authority and Florida Housing Finance Corporation made this community possible.
