Lakeland, FL – June 27, 2023 – Vestcor Communities is proud to announce the sale of phase II of the residence halls at Florida Polytechnic University in Lakeland. The second on-campus dormitory developed by Vestcor was sold to the University.
In 2013, Vestcor was awarded the contract by Florida Polytechnic University to build its first student residence hall, with 241 beds, which was completed in time for the inaugural class in August 2014. Florida Polytechnic’s success and growing enrollment led to Vestcor building a second residence hall in 2016, which brought an additional 555 beds to the campus.
“This is a great example of the benefits of a public-private partnership”, said Vestcor Communities President Will Morgan. “On-campus housing is so critical to any university, especially a brand new one, and we are proud to have provided it at Florida Poly. We look forward to continuing this partnership with our ownership of Phase I of the residence halls.”
Phase II of the residence halls at Florida Polytechnic is a five-story 135,000 square foot steel structure. Amenities include a swimming pool, fitness center, recreation area with volleyball courts, student lounges with multiple TV’s for gaming and common area kitchens and study rooms on each floor.
